1st TIF Workshop (Technology for Inertial Fusion)

The First TIF Workshop (Technology for Inertial Fusion), a satellite meeting of the 26th SOFT (Symposium On Fusion Technology) in Oporto, Portugal.

A one day meeting held on Tuesday the 28th of September to promote: the study of IFE technology, knowledge exchange between groups of physicists that carry out technical and managerial work for large scale facilities and collaborations between IFE and MCF. Please see the agenda for more details.

A Workshop relevant to research laboratories in the European KiT programme for IFE, large scale laser and particle beam facilities and industries who can provide services or products relevant to IFE, such as design work, modelling, testing, vacuum technology, materials, cryogenics, etc.

An event organised in association with the Large Facility Technology Network (LFTN), launched two years ago by Friedrich Wagner, former president of the European Physical Society (EPS).

Workshop coordinated by :-

Jonathan Davies
Tito Mendonça
Manolo Perlado
Vladimir Tikhonchuk

We believe that large projects such as HIPER, ELI, LMJ, PETAL, ITER, X-FEL and FAIR should all be represented. This would help to promote knowledge exchange on important subjects, such as materials for the first wall, blankets, tritium technology, robotics, cryogenics, large-scale high-power laser systems, target fabrication, management, etc
